Racing Mitsubishi Lancer, another bid for the diesel Dakar
In early 2009 will be held thirty edition of the Dakar, which for the first time in South America and is not in Africa, for security reasons. In this edition, the Mitsubishi team, which accumulates many victories in this rally, following in the footsteps of Volkswagen and I bet all the black, ie, to diesel.

Entered four cars, all Mitsubishi Lancer Racing D-iD, powered by a 3.0 V6 biturbo of 280 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The figure of power is already very good, but the torque is even better. The 3.0 L6 biturbo engine of spent BMW 286 hp and 570 Nm with the same engine capacity (although street).

It uses a five-speed transmission adapted to the force of the engine, Ricardo mark. The total traction at all four wheels is the front axle and rear self. The size of the fuel tank has not yet been decided.
The Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart team looks not only his first victory with a diesel car, also fatten his legend in this competition with the 8th consecutive victory. The pilots are Stéphane Peterhansel (France), Hiroshi Masuoka (Japan), Luc Alphand (France) and Joan “Nani” Roma (Spain), the same since 2005.
Seems to lie coming from the Repsol team in the shell of these cars will be blended with biodiesel produced from renewable sources inedible and cleaner than oil. Racing Lancer will be unveiled at the Paris Salon of the public, with all his war paint, in the meantime, I leave you with an appetizer:
